The Canal Flats facility is located in the Canadian Rockies, 100 km from Cranbrook Regional Airport and 500 km east of Vancouver.
The facility sits on 10 acres of land and has a full fibre optic connection as well as a fabrication shop that supports our other facilities.

The site is connected to BC Hydro's 69 kV grid via an on-site 30 MW substation.
The highly skilled management team has extensive experience in managing and operating data centres. The facility will create approximately 20 full-time jobs at Canal Flats.
The facility will create long-term revenue streams for Canal Flats and the local community over the expected life of the business of several decades.
The facility is connected to BC Hydro's transmission grid and is powered by 100% renewable energy, which BC Hydro says currently comes from approximately 98% clean or renewable sources (primarily hydro) and 2% from the purchase of RECs.
Due to declining industrial demand over the past few decades and additional renewable generation capacity, BC Hydro has excess generation compared to load, and the data centres can absorb some of this excess capacity, which under the regulatory model in place in British Columbia has the benefit of lowering rates for other BC Hydro customers.
